About Us

We are happy that your child is a student at Pigeon Forge Primary and look forward to you and your family being a special part of our school. We anticipate an exceptional school year filled with many exciting learning opportunities. Working together as a team, we can provide a wonderful learning experience for all of our students. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please call Pigeon Forge Primary.

Pigeon Forge Primary implements board-approved curriculum that is comprehensive and challenging. Individual teacher planning is based on current state standards and other resources. Formative and summative assessments throughout the year include but are not limited to the Brigance K screening, Pre-1st Brigance, STAR, chapter and teacher made tests, and TN Ready (3rd grade). Upon receipt from state testing, TN Ready results are shared with parents, and school-wide results are reviewed to determine if Pigeon Forge Primary is making adequate progress toward academic goals; we are proud that Pigeon Forge Primary continues to make adequate academic progress and maintains an attendance rate above 93%. The current TENNESSEE REPORT CARD is available at the State Department of Education website (http://www.state.tn.us/education/) and on the school system’s website at www.sevier.org. The Tennessee Report Card provides information about demographics, statistics, and performance indicators for both the system and school. A Sevier County Board of Education website is available at Sevier County School System. The website features a copy of the Sevier County Board of Education Policy Manual as well as other meaningful school related information.

We strongly encourage parental involvement at Pigeon Forge Primary School. We notify parents that they have a right to request and receive timely information on the professional qualifications of the teachers and paraprofessionals working with their children. We believe that parents have a right to be involved in an organized, ongoing, and timely way in the planning, review, and improvement of school programs and funding for parent involvement activities. Realizing that it is sometimes difficult for parents to become involved, we attempt to offer a number of opportunities for parental participation including but not limited to the following: Book Fair, Field Day, classroom, and school volunteers, Family Advisory Board, parent/teacher conferences, grade level and individual classroom programs and Meet the Teacher and Open House nights.
